Location of
Peel:
054°13'36"N 004°41'42"W (approximately) Ordnance Survey Sheet 95 Grid reference SC 843,232 This reference gives you the location of the Club, at the western end of the promenade (Shore Road). Entrance to the Inner Harbour at Peel is restricted by both a water retaining gate and pedestrian swing bridge. Work to install pontoon berths in the harbour may cause some disruption this summer. The predicted times of the gate operation can be found on the Peel Harbour (IoM government) website but are not reliable, particularly on neap tides. The swing bridge is opened by request - call Peel on VHF Channel 12 during working hours (8.00am - 5.00pm). Outside normal working hours, call Douglas on VHF 12 but be warned that some operators are unilaterally enforcing an illogical "on the hour / half hour" system. There are visitor moorings in the bay during summer but can be an uncomfortable ride, particularly when the wind is in the North to Western quarter. |
